From Corporate Targets to Compassionate Leadership: Florentina’s Journey with Sylvian Care South East London
A New Chapter in the Sylvian Care Story
When Florentina Vlad decided to leave her corporate career behind, she wasn’t just changing industries. After years in a corporate culture where people were secondary to profit margins, she had reached a turning point.
“I’d spent years matching people to projects and targets,” Florentina reflected. “But what really motivated me was seeing people grow, develop, and thrive. In care, I can do that - not just for a team, but for families and individuals who truly need support.”
Her search for something more meaningful led her to Sylvian Care, and to her new role as franchise owner of Sylvian Care South East London, the network’s first-ever franchise resale.
A Fresh Start with a Powerful Mission
“There was a clear difference when I explored options,” said Florentina.
“Talking about care felt very different. It had purpose. Within weeks I was telling my husband: this feels right. It just clicked into place for me.”
Though the South East London branch’s story began under different circumstances, its next chapter is being written with renewed energy, clarity, and purpose. With CQC registration already in place, Florentina and her team, led by Registered Manager Hani Ahmed, are ready to begin.
“Strong relationships are built on alignment, and that’s what we’re building here,” she added. “We want clients to feel heard, respected, and genuinely supported. Care shouldn’t feel transactional. It should feel like family.”
Shaped by Experience: Why Empathy Matters
Personal experiences have sharpened Florentina’s commitment to responsiveness and dignity in care.
“After a COVID episode, my GP sent me to A&E for specific tests,” she explained. “I came back six hours later with the wrong test done. It was scary. In vulnerable moments, you just want to be heard. That experience reinforced my belief that people deserve better. Clear communication, compassion, and getting things sorted quickly.”
Motivated by this experience, Florentina set out her priorities for the new office: uncompromising quality and clear communication.
Inviting the Community to Connect
Sylvian Care South East London is now welcoming new enquiries and conversations from local families seeking home care support for seniors.
“Choosing a carer is built on trust,” said Florentina. “Right now, we might still be strangers - so let’s start with a simple, honest conversation. There’s no pressure and no obligation, just a chance to see if our approach feels right for you.”
Whether it’s a few hours of companionship, help with daily tasks, or more specialised support, the pledge remains the same: compassionate, reliable care that puts people first.
